Full disclosure: This #TextureTuesday has nothing to do with #Shrove Tuesday (apart from the fact it shares the same amount of dimensions as a pancake).
I love rust. I really do. Being down at Margate, Kent for Christmas reminded me of living in St Kilda, Australia. Mild sea breezes, a laid back attitude and, of course, iron oxidation. I love the depth of colour and just the sheer warmth that it exudes, even when being battered by frosty gales in the middle of winter.
Here’s one of the (many, many) shots I took featuring rust, on a still-functional parking meter on the breakwater pier in Margate.
